Art and engineering collide every Memorial Day weekend with the running of The World Championship Great Arcata to Ferndale Kinetic Sculpture Race. Participants build human powered sculptures and ride and paddle them in a three-day race which takes them over North Coast roads, sand dunes, beaches, mud, and seas. These quirky creations have spawned nine similar races worldwide.

Truckers Christmas Convoy

The Truckers Christmas Convoy graces Eureka city streets each December as town residents commemorate their heritage with elaborately and colorfully lit vehicles. Winter ushers in a host of holiday festivities including the lighting of America's tallest living tree, a Yuletide Winter Solstice Celebration and the Christmas Lighted Tractor Parade through Ferndale.
