Allow us to be your home base for exploring the grandeur of the North Coast - redwood forests, wildlife preserves, unspoiled coastlines and a new surprise around every corner.
Humboldt County roads are known as "redwood highways" because of the towering giants which oversee visitors to the North Coast.
Enjoy these ancient guardians in a casual drive through Avenue of the Giants, or stop and explore one of the many walking paths through the forest in Humboldt Redwoods State Park.
Wildlife reserves and parks flourish throughout the North Coast and will leave you with many breathtaking memories. It's the unspoiled beauty of a mountain stream, the sound of a Spotted Owl flapping its broad wings as it flys high through the forest canopy, or the sight of morning dew on lush green clover coating the forest floor.

Roosevelt Elk
Herds of Roosevelet Elk can be found throughout Redwood National Park and the North Coast. These graceful animals favor open meadows where they feed on grass and other plants. They are named for conservationist President Theodore Roosevelt who helped bring the species from the edge of extinction in the early part of the century.
